Koozie Johns
Planck Music have had the honour of working with Rock hero Koozie Johns and his band Folk Grinder. Most recently recording a rework of Iggy Pop’s The Passenger. Koozie is back in with us this summer to record his next album. Read an interview with the man here.
Oxford Style
Elegant Pop/Rock band Oxford Style used Planck Music to record their song ‘Halcyon Days’ in April. Lovely bunch of musicians and good fun to work with. Looking forward to recording with them again in the future.
Si Moonrock
In March, Planck Music tracked and mixed drums for professional drummer Si Moonrock who was in recording some demonstration videos. Watch Si thumping his way through Nirvana’s classic song ‘Drain You’ on YouTube. Filmed in the Planck Studio. Awesome.
Seneca
Superb London MC Seneca has come in to use Planck Studios alongside music producer Mr McG and fellow MC Nasher a couple of times over the last six months to record vocals for tracks ‘What’s British?’ and ‘This is Epic’. Seneca says: ‘It was great working with the guys at Plank Studios who bring knowledge, professionalism and enthusiasm to the table whilst allowing each artist the freedom to express themselves. We’ll definitely be using the facilities again in the future.’ Listen to the final mix of ‘What’s British?’ here.
Cable Street Collective
Planck Music finished off 2011 by producing some amazing Afrobeat with upcoming London band the Cable Street Collective, who were in recording a 3 track E.P with us. Listen to the final mix of the E.P’s title track Worth Fighting For? here. Top tune.
Stickman Cartel
Glastonbury and Camden Indie Dance veterns the Stickman Cartel came in to record & produce two songs with us. Mixing Tribal rhythms, House/Dub synths, soaring epic vocals and angular guitars (think, New Order, Foals), the Planck Music team and equipment were certainly put through their paces.
Viv Albertine
The influential singer/song-writer Viv Albertine (ex-The Slits), is a regular at Planck Music and is often in recording and producing various projects.
